Spiral Welded Pipe
Gray Engineering Solutions: New Zealand’s Leading Manufacturer of Spiral Welded Pipe (SSAW)
At Gray Engineering Solutions, we specialise in the production of high-quality Spiral Submerged Arc Welded (SSAW) steel pipes. Manufactured to exacting standards, our pipes are spiral-formed and welded both internally and externally using fully automated submerged arc welding technology.
Operating from our Ashburton facility, we run two specialised spiral welding mills—each tailored to a specific size range, producing pipes with Outside Diameters (OD) from 150mm to 1800mm.
We offer custom manufacturing to meet virtually any size and length requirements, with a selection of standard sizes readily available in stock. For custom orders, a minimum quantity of 30 metres is required.

Words from our clients
We’re really particular about the subbies we use, so the fact that we’ve worked with Luke and the team for many years is itself testament to their performance.
It’s all about partnership and we know Engineering Solutions will deliver consistent reliable quality.
Plus they’re easy to deal with – clear communication, attention to detail and good processes in place. We find these guys are excellent problem solvers, always willing to accommodate client’s individual requirements. Engineering Solutions is exactly what they do.
Starting a brand new business is challenging and especially when we needed something unique. Luke, Hayden, and the team at Engineering Solutions have been instrumental in supporting us and developing a product that simply exceeded our expectations. They understood what we wanted to achieve so with their knowledge and experience they were able to design our equipment specifically for our needs. They continually innovated and made sure we were involved throughout the process with great communication and involvement.
Very proud of the final product they developed and will be a great partnership working with them as our business expands
