At Gray Engineering Solutions we offer a full range of engineering services to customers in a wide range of industries. Our engineers are all trade qualified and their services are available either in-house or at your location. We can offer a complete package from design and project management through to the finished product.

Structural Engineering

Fabrication of structural steel beams, posts and portals are carried out in our workshop to your exact specifications. Our qualified engineers can manufacture everything from small residential beams to steelwork for larger commercial builds. We can even manufacture stairways, handrails and custom balustrades. From workshop fabrication thought to site welding Gray Engineering Solutions have it covered.

General engineering

Gray Engineering Solutions have the experience and equipment to deliver a wide range of fabrication projects. We have the capability to MIG, TIG and Stick weld for the welding of mild steel, aluminium and stainless steel. We also offer on-site services repairing and welding of cow sheds, farm equipment, industrial maintenance or any other site projects. Also our experienced fabricators can bend and roll pipe to your requirements.

Machining

Our machining equipment includes 2 manual lathes, a mill and a CNC lathe.

This technology allows us to carry out a wide range of machining projects. Our new CNC lathe allows us to machine more complex components and increase output. Its fast programming interface makes it great for one off jobs or for large manufacturing runs.

Specialist in pump maintenance and servicing

We are agents for Southern Cross and Onga Pumps but can service and supply all brands of pumps. We currently service four major irrigation schemes in the Canterbury region.

Preventative maintenance plans are setup and all the required maintenance is undertaken by our experienced team. Pumps can be transported to our workshop for complete overhauls or can be rebuilt onsite. Our staff are trained in the correct installation requirements for bearing and seal replacement in pumps and other equipment. The vibration analysis, part of our preventative maintenance program is the option of using vibration data.

Vibration analysis helps you monitor and detect issues using vibration data. We use this data in two different ways. The first is we take multiple readings over time and use as a comparison for the machines condition. Secondly we can have the individual data analysed to find the current issues it may have as per below.

Imbalance · Bearing failures · Mechanical looseness · Misalignment · Resonance and natural frequencies · Electrical motor faults · Bent shafts · Gearbox failures
